My 1st Mermaid from Suzi's class. Her hair is really bright and I think I goobered her face up when the wax was put on. Then I tried to fix it and it got worse. Oh well, I have many more ideas for mermies so hopefully they will improve.

I was in the mood for retro colors and cupcakes to celebrate Suzi Blu's birthday (my online art teacher).
This is a picture of Thelma Rose at her last day on the job at the Orpheum Vaudeville Theater in the Bowery. Moving pictures were becoming the rage and patrons of the Orpheum were awfully rowdy. Thelma Rose just dodged the tomatoes being thrown at the stage. The boxing twins known as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum were dejected at the lack of respect and joined a carnival in Rhode Island.
Thelma Rose became a Coca Cola model in magazines and later a silent film star.
Crowabout challenge week 89
I made this for my dear friend Tammy who is moving far away to Virginia this week.. I'm heartbroken and will miss her soooo much.
Bertha Jean had to supplement her egg juggling routine with advertising. Her mama made the rooster costume and so she would juggle every day hoping someone would buy her eggs.
One night, Bertha Jean saw bright lights over the barn and the next morning, strange patterns in the cornfield astounded her.
She told the local newspaper that you could get lost in that cornfield with all those weird patterns... it was like a maze. People started coming to see the maze and she was able to charge insane prices for people to get lost.
Thereafter, Bertha Jean only wore the rooster costume and juggled for children who came on school buses to see the crop patterns.
Panama Jack got his start selling hairnets before he got the idea to sell his hats. His cute young girlfriend loves the hairnets and uses them daily when they go out in his boat.

I love this picture. It's much better in real life.. a little more subtle. My photography skills are lacking. I stayed up til 2am a few night ago working on this. Art is addictive.
